The Journey is a collection of paintings by West Wales artist, Diane Mathias and meditations, which are taken from the bible , chosen by the artist to enhance the paintings and which take the viewer on a pilgrimage, following the course of the Teifi River from its source to where it meets the sea. ‘The Journey’ represents the idea that our journey through life is not only physical or geographical, but also spiritual.

‘’The Teifi begins its journey high in the mountains, north of Pontrhydfendigaid. The experience of this place is completely breathtaking. I have a great love for the wild places of this wonderful country and for me, visiting this place where the Teifi has its source was an exciting adventure. Following the course of the river we are taken through a diverse landscape, filled with much

history and shaped by pilgrims of old who have left their mark and remind us that we are a very small part of a much greater picture.

The Teifi finishes its course in one of the most peaceful and restful places I know, through St. Dogmaels and Gwbert then into the sea at Poppit. There is such an abundance of life here, people and wildlife seem to co-habit in harmony.

‘The Journey’ is in praise to God for the extravagant beauty in His creation, who surely is the master of all artists!
